Aiming for perfection
We break our horses in gently as they develop. For example they will halter train and learn to lead in the second year. In the third year they will learn to accept a bridle and a saddle and in the forth year they will be backed and learn with a rider in the round pen. Four to five years old training in earnest as the horses strength allows. Most horses are trained by the age of five though will continue to improve till six, seven or eight and beyond as strength and stamina allows.
All our foals get two tetanus vaccinations and all horses are being wormed four times a year. Feeding is kept simple, the horses are kept outside as much as possible and kept on grass with minimal use of fertiliser. We feed haylage in the winter and young stock may be supplemented with hard feeds and all horses get mineral supplements.
